A Disney On Ice Family Legacy

The Santee family’s story on the ice began when Jimmie, inspired by his Olympic-skater brother David and their mother RoseMary, first discovered his passion for skating at the age of three. Little did they know that this love for the sport would shape their lives, eventually leading Jimmie to join Disney On Ice in 1984.

Over the years, Jimmie became part of several unforgettable tours, including Donald Duck’s 50th Birthday Celebration, Snow White On Ice, and Time Machine. But perhaps the most magical chapter in this family’s story began in 1984, when Jimmie met Jamie Lynn Kitching during his first Disney On Ice tour. Jamie, an accomplished skater known for her roles as Cinderella, Ariel, and Snow White, soon became his wife, and they even shared the ice in iconic roles together.

Today, the Santee family’s legacy shines brighter than ever, as Jimmie and Jamie’s three children follow in their footsteps on the ice. Their son Ryan has skated as Peter Pan, Hans, and Kristoff, while daughters Sarah and Jessica bring beloved characters like Snow White, Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel, Moana, and Jessie to life. Watching their children create magical moments for audiences fills Jimmie and Jamie with pride.

For the Santees, Disney On Ice is more than a career; it’s a family tradition built on shared joy, cherished memories, and a love of bringing magical Disney stories to life.
